Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Unicus Technologies Private Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), the operator of the SafePlay™ mobile app and platform (“SafePlay”), collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and other applicable laws.
1. Who we are and our role
SafePlay is a business-to-business platform provided to sports academies, clubs, and sports-medicine organisations (each, an “Organisation”). When an Organisation uses SafePlay to manage its athletes and staff, the Organisation determines what data is collected and why — it acts as the data controller (Data Fiduciary), and we act as its service provider (Data Processor), handling data on its behalf and on its instructions. For data we collect directly to operate and improve the service, we act as the controller.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account & contact information — name, email address, phone number, organisation, role/specialty, and login identifiers.
- Health & performance data — assessment responses, wellness check-ins and readiness scores, injury and return-to-play records, medical examination data, and physical measurements entered by you or by authorised staff.
- User content — photos, videos, body-map markings, and notes attached to assessments and injury reports.
- Technical data — app version, device model, and basic diagnostic information necessary to operate and secure the service.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across other apps or websites.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data only to provide and support the service, namely to:
- authenticate you and secure your account;
- record and display assessments, wellness, and injury information for authorised users within your Organisation;
- calculate readiness scores and surface red-flag alerts to relevant staff;
- synchronise your data across devices and back it up;
- provide support, maintain security, and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-context behavioural profiling.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data on the basis of the consent you or your Organisation provide, to perform the services requested, and to comply with applicable law. Health data is processed for the purpose of athlete health and performance management as directed by your Organisation.
5. Data sharing and disclosure
We share personal data only as needed to provide the service:
- with authorised users within your Organisation, according to role-based permissions;
- with service providers (such as cloud hosting) that process data on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations;
- where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
6. Data isolation and security
Each Organisation’s data is logically isolated so that one Organisation’s users cannot access another’s. We apply technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and role-based permissions enforced throughout the platform — to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service to your Organisation, and thereafter only as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When data is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a grievance. Because your Organisation controls much of the data in SafePlay, some requests may be directed to your Organisation; we will assist them in responding. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
Where SafePlay is used for athletes who are minors, accounts are created and managed by the Organisation and, where required, with the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children without such authorisation.
10. International transfers
Personal data is processed and stored in accordance with applicable law. Where data is transferred or stored outside your country, we take steps to ensure it remains protected to the standard described in this Policy.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app.
